UPDATES

November 16th, 2011:
Hi visitors, thanks for stopping by! I'm busy working on a few commissions for the upcoming holidays and I look forward to posting those on here when they're done (with the customer's permission, of course.) I also changed around my Facebook page for "Drawing You In." It's now for both my drawings and graphic design work, so don't let the change of logo throw you. I'm updating the Facebook links here to reflect the page change, but the one towards the bottom of this "Updates" section works.
I also hope to update the look of this website as my schedule allows, so stay tuned for some possible changes and further updates. Thanks!
-Jaci

October 5th, 2010 - NEW! Commission

September, 2010 - NEW! Young Boy

June 20th 2010 - NEW! Jennifer Aniston

May 27th, 2010
- New Courteney Cox portrait has been moved to its permanent home in the Celebrity Gallery.

May 21st, 2010 - This is a clip from the Ellen DeGeneres Show from May of 2007. During that season she had a segment called "Viewer Art" where she displayed artwork sent in by viewers. I drew a small portrait of her (not the same one that's posted here) and they actually aired it. If you'd like to skip ahead, it's at 2:17.

It was a complicated process to get this from the TV to this webpage, and thanks to Splatter Designs for helping with that and doing the best job possible with what he had to work with. =)

March 25th, 2010 - Robert Downey Jr., Phase I - Here is the beginning of a Robert Downey Jr. drawing. The weird stuff at the bottom of his nose is going to be smoke because he's smoking in the original photograph. Will post updates as it moves along.

Jennifer Aniston Drawing #2
March 25th, 2010 - This drawing is a bit farther along than what's shown here, but I'd like to wait to post the finished product next. =) It will be posted in my Celebrity section as soon as it's done.

Other works in progress - Steve Carell - updated Feb. 2010

COMMISSIONS

Thank you for your interest in a custom portrait of your family or pet! These portraits are black and white and are done in graphite, like the example to the left, and the celebrity portraits on this site.

THE FINISHED PRODUCT
: The portraits are typically done on a size of approx. 8" wide x 10" tall. Pricing depends upon the complexity of the project. If you are interested, please email me a photo and I can provide you with an estimate.

NOTE: I am currently updating this information and the Paypal amounts may not be the most up-to-date. Deposits will vary depending on the final price of the image. You can obtain this information by emailing me a photo and requesting an estimate.

PAYMENT: A non-refundable deposit of 50% is due up front with the remainder due upon completion of the portrait. There is no additional cost to ship a portrait via standard USPS mail. Continue below to make a deposit or final payment.

Time to complete a portrait will depend on the complexity. If you are interested, please email me an image and I will give you an estimate.

I'M INTERESTED - WHAT DO I DO NOW? The first step is to submit a photograph. These can be emailed to me or I can work from a hard copy.

IMPORTANT: The better the photograph, the better the end result. A high quality photograph to work from is very important. For the best result, a reference photo must have the following qualities:

  • CLARITY: They must be in focus and the subject's face must fill up most of the frame - enough so that details of the subject's face are visible. A high resolution image is best (300 dpi.) If you have questions about the resolution of your image let me know and I can take a look.
  • CONTRAST: You may notice in my "Celebrity" section that all of the examples contain variation between lights and darks. Shadows on the subject's face make it easier to distinguish features and therefore reproduce them most accurately. Note: I unfortunately cannot work from a school/class photograph of a child.
  • SIZE: A larger photo is better. A minimum size of 5" x 7" is fine as long as the subject's face takes up most of the frame. I unfortunately cannot work from wallet-sized images.

NOTE: When providing me with images of your loved ones, your confidentially and privacy is respected. The images you provide will be used strictly for portrait purposes. Your approval will be obtained prior to displaying any portraits on this site or elsewhere, if applicable.

DRAWING AT EVENTS

I am available to work at parties or special events drawing portraits. I require a subject to sit for me for about 10 minutes and when we are done they will have an original piece of artwork to take home.

THE PORTRAITS
- Each portrait is drawn in graphite on on a 5 1/2" x 8" piece of 140 lb watercolor paper. Keep in mind these are not caricatures, but more realistic looking portraits. You can see a few samples below:

Each finished piece is packaged in an 8" x 10" sealed clear plastic sleeve for protection. Matboard is in the sleeve as well to prevent bending.

PRICING - I charge $65 per hour for my portrait drawing services. I can complete approximately 5 - 6 portraits per hour and can draw adults or children.

SUPPLIES - I bring most of my own supplies. From the event host I would just need two chairs - one for me and one for the subject - and access to an electrical outlet for a light.

PAYMENT
- If you are interested in hiring me for an event I will have you sign a proposal and contract agreeing to terms of my services as well as payment terms. I do ask for a 30% deposit upon scheduling my services with the remaining balance due the night of the event upon completion of my contracted time. A small additional fee may be incurred for travel depending upon the destination of event.

Event Deposit Payment
